Join us for this brand new strengthening class which borrows elements from high intensity interval training and traditional strength training to increase muscle strength and endurance! Supersetting, a popular strengthening technique, simply means chaining together multiple strengthening exercises. In this class, we will be taking it a step further and focus on “antagonistic supersetting”, which involves consecutively training opposing muscle groups. This technique allows for maximum strengthening results in the least amount of time while decreasing the chances of muscular imbalances. The aquatic setting creates a unique opportunity to increase anaerobic strength; the viscosity of the water provides a velocity based resistance that you can easily adjust to suit your fitness level, while the buoyancy helps protect joint damage associated with impact. Each class consists of a warm up, supersets targeting alternating muscle groups, and a cool down and stretching period at the end.

Our AquaKick class offers a low impact workout that combines elements of martial arts, and interactive activities designed to make your workout effective and fun. The aquatic environment offers a unique twist to kickboxing, adding resistance to all your movements while protecting your joints from high impact and jerking motions common in many land based martial arts based fitness classes. A typical AquaKick class consists of a warm up period, moving and stationary exercises, and a cool down and stretching period. In this class, you can expect to have a good time as you punch, kick, and jump your way to a fitter and healthier lifestyle!
