Recreation Swim

The Center offers access to the shallow end of the Recreation Pool during specific Recreation Swim times. Come join us!

NOTE: Starting Monday Aug 26, 2019, we will begin observing our Winter Hours for Recreation Swim times, which are as follows:
Mon-Fri 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM, 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Sat/Sun 2:15 PM – 4:45 PM

Rec Swim will have a mandatory water/bathroom break and refresher of the rules every hour of Rec Swim.

Recreation Swim

Enjoy recreational swim at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center! EVERY child under the age of 8 MUST BE accompanied by an adult (18 years or older), IN THE WATER. It’s a 1:1 ratio in the water.

Recreation Swim is subject to availability. If capacity is reached, patrons will be added to a waiting list. Call 626.564.0330 for more details.

Water diapers are required for babies and toddlers. Personal flotation devices, pool toys, and swim equipment are not allowed in Recreation Swim. Appropriate swim attire must be worn in the pools – no street clothes (including t-shirts). Wrist bands will be given upon entry and must be worn at all times.

Adult (18 & over): $2.00
Children (17 & under): $1.00

Current RBAC lap swim members do not need to pay an additional fee for Recreation Swim, however do check in at the Front Desk for a wristband.

Children registered for current session lessons, do not need to pay an additional fee for Recreation Swim the day of their lesson. Accompanying adults must pay the fee.

*Recreation Swim Hours and Fees are for the use of the shallow end of the dive and recreation pool and do not include the use of lap lanes, hydro spas or weight room.

● Dive or jump from the edge
● Use flotation devices
● Play on ramp or railing
● Ride piggy back or on shoulders
● Use kickboards, fins or noodles
● Play roughly
● Use the Jacuzzi or dive boards
● Chew gum or use glass containers
● Hang on lane lines or swim in lanes
● Wear street clothes in the pool
● Smoke or drink alcohol on the pool deck
● Wear band-aids or bandages in the pool.


Where does Recreation Swim take place?

Recreation Swim in held in the shallow end (3′ 6″ deep) of the Recreational Pool, which is heated to 86 degrees.

Can Recreation Swim patrons use the diving boards, lap lanes or jacuzzis?

Patrons cannot access the diving boards, lap lanes or jaccuzis during Recreation Swim.
