The team now
includes almost 80 members and provides exercise and socialization so children can learn how to improve their athletic abilities,
physical skills and capacity to interact constructively with others.
In the past two years, the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center has added summer camp, water polo and diving, and an opportunity
for siblings to participate so that families are served.
The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center works with many partners to support this program: the Special Olympics of San Gabriel
Valley, Foothill Autism Alliance, the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, and Hathaway
Sycamores, Regional Centers, Big Fun and Leaps N’ Boundz as well as with the following school districts: Burbank,
Glendale, La Canada, Los Angeles, Pasadena and South Pasadena.
Stingrays have received grant funding from Georgina Frederick
Children's Foundation, Patron Saints Foundation, Disney VoluntEARS, CVS Pharmacy, Pasadena Rotary and Anonymous Donors.
