Online Swim Meet Entry Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a username and password?   Please fill out the Online Sign-up Request form and submit a meet escrow account deposit.  Place it in the “Meet Entry” Folder in the RBAC lobby.

Who should I make my check out to?  Rose Bowl Boosters

Can I pay with a credit card?  No.  Check (preferred) or cash only.

How much money should I deposit?  Please deposit what you think your swimmer will use in 2-3 months.  $100 is a good amount for the average swimmer.

Can I pay for multiple swimmers with one check? Yes.

Where do I place my payments?  Please place your payments in the “Meet Entry” Folder in the RBAC Lobby.  It is located near the coaches’ folders in the Swim Team folder area.

How will I know when my account is used up?  You will receive a statement after each submission advising you of the amount of credit in your account.

Is this the same statement I get regarding my Family Commitment? No, you will receive a separate statement from the Booster Club regarding your family commitment and miscellaneous items.

If my account runs out will you submit my swimmer’s events anyway?  Yes, one time only.  If your account is not replenished, your password will be suspended until another deposit is made.

I forgot my password.  What now?  At the upper left of the log in screen for Direct Athletics there is a “forgot your password?” link.  It will be emailed to you.

I don’t like my user name.  Can I change it?  No.  It is generated by Direct Athletics.

If, after I sign up for the meet, I realize we cannot attend, can my money be refunded?  That depends.  If we have not yet submitted the Rose Bowl team entry, then the answer is yes.  If we have submitted the Rose Bowl team entry the answer is no.

How will I know it is time to sign-up for a meet?  You will receive an email from the meet coordinator that the meet is available for online sign-up.  You will receive a second email about 36 hours before the sign-up deadline as a reminder.

How will I know about the details of the meet (location, events, and entry time requirements)?  On the Direct Athletics website, when you click on each meet, a short paragraph will describe the location, events, time requirements and cost of that meet. Coaches can always answer questions specific to your swimmer.

Why was my swimmer’s online meet request rejected?  There are three potential reasons: 1) the swimmer did not meet the race time requirements for that particular meet 2) Family Commitment is not current 3) the escrow account is depleted.

If I have a credit on my family commitment account, can I use it to pay for swim meets or vice versa?  Yes, just advise the co-coordinator of the online program that you’d like the money transferred (contact Valerie Myers at: vpmyers@charter.net

The coach usually chooses my swimmers events.  Can I still use online sign-up?  Yes.  The coaches reserve the right to make changes to any submitted meet entry.  They review the entries before the Rose Bowl Team submission is made to Southern California Swimming.  Make your best guess for event selection and they will change them as necessary.

I let my swimmer choose his events.  Can he have his own Direct Athletics account?  The username and password will only be given to the financially responsible adult.  You may pass it on to your swimmer, but you agree to pay for the events he signs up for.  We can certainly add the swimmer’s email address for notification of upcoming meets.

If I sign-up online and then change my mind, can I change events?  You may edit your entries up until the meet sign-up closure time which will be clearly stated on the website for each meet.

Can I still use the paper sign-up occasionally?  Yes.  Feel free to use either.  Please write “escrow account” on the payment section of the paper entry.

Can someone show me how to do this?  Yes.  The meet coordinator will be happy to meet you at the pool for a demonstration of the process.  Contact Valerie Myers at: vpmyers@charter.net
