Six Team Records at So Cal Winter Invitational

Dec. 6-8, Commerce - No matter how long you are in the sport of swimming, there will always be firsts, our swimmers that were qualified from the National & Senior groups competed in a meet last weekend that had to be cancelled on Sunday due to bad air quality inside the building. Breastrokers Jason Zhong & Shelby Powell Highlight Turkey Invitational

November 16-18, Mission Viejo

Both Shelby, 11, & Jason, 9, made the trek to south Orange County on Saturday for their lone event that qualified them for the

Turkey Invitational meet - the 50 yard Breastroke.  While both swimmers posted personal bests by at least .5 seconds, it is most important

to note that they showed great pride & team spirit for wanting to represent Rose Bowl, no matter the number of events that they raced in.  While

we had many swimmers elect not to attend the meet because they only qualified for one or two events, the coaches definitely took note of

Shelby & Jason's dedication & enthusiasm!

Other notable performances were swimmers acquiring new Spring Jr Olympic Events:

Both Katie Altmayer, 11, & Corey John, 11, in the 500 Free; Tiffany Warmuth, 12, in 50 Back; Matt Varraveto, 10, in 50 Breast;

Matt Olson, 10, in 100 Fly & 200 IM; Kris Abramyan, 10, 100 Free; Katie Altman, 10, 200 IM
