About Us
In 1984, Los Angeles hosted the first
financially successful Olympic Games. The Los Angeles Organizing Committee
endowed a fund to benefit youth sports in the form of the Amateur Athletic
Foundation on Los Angeles. The Committee encouraged community leaders to
build a comprehensive aquatics center that would provide opportunities to
children, youth, families and seniors so that all generations can achieve
the benefits of healthy living habits, regular exercise, sports training,
discipline, setting goals and striving to reach their full potential. In
1990 the AAF Rose Bowl Aquatics Center opened to serve the aquatic needs
of Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles community for many generations to
come with an emphasis on participation of economically disadvantaged
youth.
Since then, the Rose Bowl Dive Team has been one of the top teams on the West Coast, and it is well recognized all over the United States. In addition, almost all of our High School graduates continue diving in College, and many have received scholarships offers.
